Taki Udon has teased a stunning emerald green translucent shell for the SuperStation one, hinting at a potential future colorway following the retirement of Matte Black.

First Look: Emerald Translucent Shell Teased for SuperStation one

Just as Batch 5 marked the final production run for the Matte Black SuperStation one, hardware creator Taki Udon shared a tantalizing close-up look at a prototype Emerald Translucent shell for the popular MiSTer-compatible FPGA console.

The teaser photo reveals a gorgeous frosted, semi-transparent green plastic finish reminiscent of classic late-'90s gaming hardware—most notably the beloved Jungle Green Nintendo 64 and translucent Emerald Green PlayStation 2 controllers.

A Future Batch 6 Colorway?

The prototype shell clearly displays the embossed R² one branding (Retro Remake) and molded power/menu toggles. Through the frosted casing, the internal screw posts and structural ribs designed to house the SS1’s FPGA mainboard and disc drive mechanisms are visible.

With Retro Remake officially phasing out Matte Black after Batch 5 to keep production cycles streamlined, this Emerald variant looks poised to step in as a future colorway—either debuting with Batch 6 alongside Classic Gray and Sapphire Blue, or potentially being offered as a standalone replacement shell kit for current owners.

No release window or pricing for the Emerald variant has been announced yet, but with Retro Remake's rapid turnaround on recent drops, expect more details soon.
