Retro gaming hardware enthusiast and creator Taki Udon has officially opened orders for SuperStation one (SS1) Batch 5 through Retro Remake. In an era plagued by endless crowdfunding campaigns and multi-month preorder queues, Batch 5 is ready to roll out immediately: units are already manufactured, in stock, and operating on normal delivery schedules.
However, this drop comes with an urgent deadline for collectors: Taki confirmed that Batch 5 represents the final opportunity to purchase the Matte Black SuperStation one, as the colorway is being permanently discontinued starting with Batch 6.
SuperStation batch 5 is live. These units are in stock and available for normal shipping. Last chance to buy a black SS1. It will be discontinued in batch 6.

Last Chance: Matte Black Discontinuation
While the Classic Gray and Transparent Blue shells will continue into future production runs, the stealthy Net Yaroze-inspired Matte Black edition is reaching the end of the line. Demand has been massive across previous drops, and units are capped at a strict Limit 1 Per Order to prevent scalping.

What is the SuperStation one?
Billed as the world's first affordable, dedicated FPGA gaming console styled after the iconic Sony PSone, the SuperStation one combines hardware-level cycle accuracy with modern convenience:
- Full MiSTer FPGA Compatibility: Built on a customized, high-performance FPGA architecture, the SuperStation one runs MiSTer FPGA cores natively. While designed with original PlayStation preservation at its heart, it can replicate the silicon circuitry of dozens of classic consoles, arcade boards, and handhelds.
- Native Original Controller & Memory Card Ports: Connect your authentic wired DualShock, digital PS1 controllers, and original memory cards straight into the front panel with zero USB polling latency.
- Modern Digital Output & Expansive I/O: Delivers pristine digital HDMI video and optical audio alongside extensive USB and serial connectivity for modern displays and accessories.
- Region-Free Plug & Play: Boots NTSC-U, NTSC-J, and PAL titles without modchips, bios patching, or region restrictions.
The SuperDock: Physical Optical Media & NVMe Storage
For purists who want to play directly from their existing physical game library, Retro Remake also offers the SuperDock, an expansion base that locks onto the bottom of the SuperStation one:

- Tray-Loading Optical Drive: Features an integrated DVD/CD-RW drive capable of reading real PS1 optical discs on the fly with cycle-accurate timing.
- Internal NVMe M.2 2280 Slot: Houses a full-speed internal M.2 SSD slot under the chassis, allowing you to load massive multi-disc libraries without dangling external drives.
- Expanded Connectivity: Adds four additional USB Type-A ports, a dedicated SNAC bypass port for zero-latency accessories, and a USB Type-C UART debug port for developers.
